14th December 04. Chief Executive of Thanet District Council (TDC) receives above letter explaining the details regarding 16 flights per week returning to Manston between the hours of 23:00 and 01:00 during the summer schedule (April to September).

The current Thanet council was elected in May 2003, the current Section 106 came in to effect in September 2000 for a period of 3 years i.e. it technically expired in September 2003.
It was mutually agreed that it remained in force until a new one was renegotiated.
TDC are now going to have public consultations after an 18 month delay which allowed ‘night’ flights to be established through the loop-holes of the old agreement.

Section 106 technical note –
The proposed flights (between 11pm and 1am) are not night-flights because they are aircraft with a rating of QC .5 !
