- British Bryological Society (East Kent Group) -promotes and advances the study mosses and liverworts throughout Thanet, the British Isles and the wider world Thanet has a number of sites containing rare and significant species along our coastline.

- Thanet Countryside Trust
(Monkton Nature Reserve and Field Study Centre) - provides educational
facilities for schools and other groups and promotes conservation and

Improves access to and enjoyment of the countryside by promoting walking and

- Trees for Thanet (Part of the
Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme Unit at Ursuline College) - the Trees for
Thanet Group is active in planting new or replanting and restoring old
hedgerows in the area. Recent projects have included the Millennium hedgerow
