Graham gave a lively, and well illustrated presentation on the trust's activities and aims.

SUSTAINABLE THANET is an Umbrella group Project for the activities that TCDT undertakes to promote environmental and Sustainability issues.

Working with local communities and groups of all ages, the project works towards improving our physical surroundings, health of local residents, the awareness of environmental issues and sustainability through group and individual activities.

There was considerable interest shown from the floor
Graham indicated how much he was in touch with other areas in the country as part of a continuous comparing and updating programme.

Graham stressed that although the trust could only support and deliver certain environmental projects, he was always very happy to talk to any group about possible support and partnerships.

Dr Alisdair Bruce said he would like to see better use of allotments, and Graham indicated that he would be most interested to listen to suggestions.
In conclusion, Graham Olive presented a grant of £500 to the TNCUG to support the group with it's environmental activities across Thanet.
He gave as an example, how the TNCUG's volunteers were involved in the Dane Valley Community Woodland Project which the trust supported for both community and environmental benefits.

The Chairman, Jack Cohen, most sincerely thanked Graham and the trust for it's generous grant, that would be spent on maintaing the momentum of the TNCUG in it's role of promoting local awareness on environmental issues, thus protecting and improving the environment for the benefit of the Thanet community.
